This is one in a series of prints I am making called Farm People. I love farm animals and I love the 1920's and 1930's and it's been great fun anthropamorphizing these animals into period clothing.
This dapper fellow is king of the roost! I gave him a watch fob on a glimmering chain because I figured that nothing would be more attractive to a chicken than a sparkly watch fob and spectacle chain. I love how his saddle feathers drape over his folded "arm". His banny legs are accentuated by the pin stripes on his pants and he dons spats to complete his ensemble. The term "banny rooster" is developed from the Bantam breeds of poultry which are very small in comparison to their Standard breed counterparts.
This image was created by Lana Lambert. She freehand drew the image onto sketch paper in pencil and then transferred it to a linoleum block. She then carved the block by hand and loaded it into a Chandler and Price Pilot Press. The print edition is 100 and was hand pulled using Graphic Chemical Block Print Black on Rives Lightweight 100% Rag Paper. Rives Lightweight has a light cream color to it.
The print dimensions are 5"X6".
Listing is for a single print in a plastic protective sleeve.
